Connor and his buddy Zach

As you may know, Connor goes to the babysitter Jenny a few times a week. Jenny also watches a little boy named Zach that's a month older than Connor. They get along pretty well, and Zach's got a great personality and is a very cute baby. Jenny took this picture of the two of them playing, and we thought Connor would like us to talk about his buddy.

Also worth noting, Connor went to the doctor on Monday for his 9 month checkup. He's 28 1/4" long which is in the 50th percentile for height. He's 19 lbs 4.5 oz, which is 40th percentile for weight. Surprisingly his head is 17.5" around, which is 40th percentile. His daddy's always had a big heavy noggin, so we're glad Connor isn't yet cursed with a heavy melon he's got to carry around.

Connor's 9 month photos are up!!!

Connor had his 9 month (and Christmas) photos taken last weekend. He cooperated very well and we got some pretty cute shots. He looks like such a big boy with his haircut!

Check them out here:

1st Haircut

Connor got his 9 month pictures taken yesterday, so we decided to get his hair cut beforehand so he wouldn't look like a dirty hippie. His hair is getting thicker, and isn't all that long overall, but in a few places it was getting a little out of control. It was hanging over his ears and in the back would get all matted and tangled when he'd sit in his car seat.

At birth, he actually had quite a bit of hair, but as happens with newborns it fell out bit by bit. One day when Andrea wasn't around, I got a bright idea to clean up what was left of it. Most of the hair on the top and front of his head had fallen out, but he still had a lot of long hair in the back. Kind of a baby-mullet. I tried shortening that hair, and it was somewhat of a disaster. There were a bunch of horizontal lines all over the back of his head, it took months before it grew out enough to hide it.

Andrea didn't learn from my mistakes, and recently decided to trim a bit of the hair around Connor's ears. Again, horizontal lines, this time on the sides of his head.

With his pictures coming up, we decided to let some professionals handle it, and we took him to Shear Madness, a place that specializes in kids. Connor cooperated pretty well, even when the buzzing clippers went around his ears.

Tooth too late for Thanksgiving...

Connor had a great time over Thanksgiving. He got to visit both Grandparents, but unfortunately his tooth didn't show up in time for the Thanksgiving dinners. He had to stick with his boring baby food and bottle instead. Maybe next year he'll be able to pig out like everyone else.

Connor did a good job of traveling all the way to St. Louis, and although he had a couple rough nights (I think his tooth really hurt), he seemed to enjoy the trip.

Without further ado, a few pictures.

Connor did NOT like taking this picture. If you touch near that area he will open his mouth and pull away

Go Baby Go!

Up until now, Connor's technique for crawling has consisted of doing a push up and then lunging forwards. It got him where he wanted to go, but it was tons of work and was very slow. He's been doing it for so long that we figured that was going to be his technique and he may never do an actual factual technical crawl.

This last week something clicked in his brain and he's on a roll.

I took this video this morning:

Hooray Connor!

Daddy's birthday!!

Daddy turned 28 today. He always said that once he was out of high school for 10 years he'd officially feel old. Well, it's official now. He graduated high school when he was 18, and 10 years later he's a crotchety old man...

His plan for the day is to sit around in his PJ's all day and watch football. So far so good!

Rooooaaar!!!

Yesterday was Connor's first Halloween! He scared everyone in his Lion costume, and we were surprised it didn't bother him as much as we figured it would. He was good about wearing it, and I think he liked how ferocious it made him look.

Scary!!!
