House For Sale!

This past week we officially listed our house for sale. It's been a lot of work to de-clutter and get the house in shape to sell. We have been talking about moving to Florida for years and with Shawn's job, now it's possible. So we decided to take the first big step in our new adventure. This past week we had the stager come by and rearrange our furniture and decorate. Thursday the photographer and realtor came to take pictures and put the sign out front. The house is listed online and our realtor's been doing quite a bit of marketing to get our house attention. This morning was our first showing! Hope it doesn't take too long, it's hard to keep the house picked up and presentable with two little kids and a puppy dog.

We're going to eventually get the full sized pictures and will post them. For now I've just copied a few of the pictures from the online listing.

Puddlejumpers parade in Odessa

This morning was the Puddlejumpers parade in Odessa and we decided to all go. The weather wasn't too hot and it was a little cloudy so it was a surprisingly mild day considering all the 100+ degrees days we've been having.


Amanda cuddled Connor before the parade. We have to tell Connor to "Smile with your eyes open" quite a bit and looks like we'll have to start coaching Auntie as well.


Allison was a big help as usual. She also scrambled to pick up all the candy that came our way.



Paige got a bit frightened by the loud sirens and motorcycles. At one point she was shaking from it all and Mommy had to cuddle her. It all was probably especially loud with her new tubes. Mommy was good about covering up her ears when it got loud.



Connor was sure to cover his ears when the motorcycles came by!

Ear tubes for Paige

This Friday we got tubes for Paige's ears. She had 5 ear infections recently and enough was enough. She actually had a little bit of a fever late in the week and we were worried she wouldn't be able to go through with it. Thankfully it was pretty mild and we brought her to the surgery center as scheduled.

We got up early Friday morning and brought Paige in her pajamas. She was a little confused as to what was going on, but was a good sport and played along.

As with our last time when we brought Connor, it was a very fast procedure. By the time the nurses brought her back to the surgery area, we only waited 5-10 minutes before the doctor came and told us that everything went fine. She had a mild ear infection in one ear. The tubes went in with no complication and after a few minutes of waiting we got to go to the recovery area where she was waking up.

She was very groggy but was surprisingly calm and sweet when she woke up. Most kids cry quite a bit when they wake up and the sound of their crying sounds so weird to them it makes them cry more and more. Connor cried quite a bit when he woke up. Paige was a lot younger and the nurses said that often the young ones aren't nearly as affected as the older kids. Paige was definitely a lot calmer and hardly cried at all.

She hadn't been able to eat or drink anything since midnight, so we gave her some milk and a cereal bar as she woke up.


She was doing great, so after a little while Daddy said: "Hey, let's get a picture with me in it." But Paige wasn't in the mood.


We brought her home after the nurses decided she was ready. Once we got home she took a four hour nap and she woke up in a great mood. Throughout the day we did most things as normal and she did really well. No problems so far, hopefully this solves her ear issues!

Connor visits Odessa

Connor stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Anders on Thursday and Friday night this past week. Drew and Allison also came over and they had a bunch of fun together.

He helped with gardening, although he was a bit nervous about getting his clothes dirty.



Had to play with Play-doh!



They all went to the Puddlejumpers fair and rode some rides and played games. Drew and Allison were determined to win him a stuffed animal and Drew won him a stuffed dolphin!

Whee!
What a great summer visit! Ga said he was a good listener and didn't get in trouble at all the whole time. He's such a good guy!

Kids food

We decided to take a quick picture of the food our kids have been eating lately.



Connor's been eating a variety of things, but he's still a bit picky. Every night, we require that he eats his "healthy food" first, which is usually carrots, cheese, applesauce, and raisins/prunes. He also likes to drink water or chocolate milk or both!



Paige eats everything. In the picture we took, she had some of her favorites: String Cheese sliced up, Blueberries and hotdog! Yum! No more baby food in the house, can you believe it?!?

Pagie's pigtails

This past week we got a cute text message from Rachel (the kids' babysitter). She put Paige's hair in pigtails! We thought it was a cute picture because of the pigtails and also because Andrea thought it was the first time that Paige really looked part Asian. Super cute and we were surprised Paige didn't go nuts trying to pull them out. Pretty soon our little girl may actually have girly looking hair!

Sporting KC Soccer with the Brunsmans

On Wednesday night we went to the new Soccer stadium and watched the Sporting KC team play with the Brunsmans. It was the first time we'd seen a professional soccer game and we loved it. The weather was a bit hot, but not too bad in the shady seats. We had a great time and are planning to bring Connor this season to see a game, we think he'd love it.
