Family photos - St. Augustine 2014

This year we did our family photos in historic St. Augustine.

We actually wanted to do them in St. Augustine last year, but our photographer Jennifer was very close to her due date and couldn't travel quite so far. It worked out well, and our outfits last year were better downtown and Andrea did an amazing job picking out a cute set of outfits for us this year that looked perfect for Old St. Augustine.

This year we took the pictures in early November and we were thrilled the weather was perfect. We saw a few of the photos on the photographer's camera and came away very excited. We were sure we got a lot of great shots. Unfortunately, when Jennifer contacted us she had very bad news. Most of the most important shots were ruined because the memory card on her camera had somehow gotten corrupted and we didn't have many pics at all. We had the option to just go with the photos that were ok, but we were pretty disappointed with most of them and opted to re-shoot. So, early December we went back down in our same outfits and got the rest of the shots that we'd missed out on. Thankfully we were lucky again and the weather was perfect again! The re-shoot photos were exactly what we were hoping for and we are very happy with the results.

JCP Women's C2 Tennis team Christmas Party

On Friday night we went to the Townsend's house to celebrate Christmas with Andrea's tennis friends and their husbands. It was a fun group as always, but especially entertaining to watch Tracy in a dance off with Christina. The ladies did a gift exchange, danced a bit, and we got a group photo with most of them in it.

Paige's artwork and coloring

Paige has really been doing a lot of artwork lately and has very quickly progressed from scribbling one crayon all over the page to doing some intricate coloring. Today she colored one of her "My Little Pony" pages very nicely and I had to get a pic. She decided that the horse's tail should be rainbow colored and even without lines to guide her she painstakingly colored it in using almost every crayon in her box.

Nick's birthday party - Nerf war and bounce houses

Today we went to the Lisi's place for Nick's 10th birthday party. Nick asked everyone to bring their Nerf guns and Connor was very excited to have a big Nerf war with everyone. He brought his favorite machinegun. There was a DJ, and the kids loved playing on all the inflatables (2 bounce houses and a slide). They mostly just ran around blasting each other.

Paige was the only girl there for most of the day and mostly stayed out of the way of the big boys. She enjoyed eating the fruit and pizza and climbing all over the inflatables.
