Paige at the park

On Wednesday, Paige usually goes to gymnastics, but they had canceled classes this week. Andrea and Connor had tennis in the evening, so Paige and I had some time to ourselves. I told her she could do whatever she wanted and she wanted to go to the park to play for a bit. She's still so cute about going to parks!

Last week of summer

This past week was the last week for summer vacation for the kids. School was scheduled to start Friday, which was kind of odd, and there were no camps scheduled for the week.

Paige had Abby come over on Monday and they made a fort under the ping pong table and then swam together for a while.

On Tuesday, Gina came by with Trevor and Logan. They were in town from Seattle, and they stopped by for the afternoon. Andrea ate lunch with Gina and Janis at Barbara Jeans while the boys played at the house.

Summer Memories 2018

The summer is coming to an end, and this Friday is the first day of school for the kids. Andrea remembered that last year she had the kids do a short writing assignment to put down some of their special memories from the year. Both kids wrote a few memories from the five categories: Kansas City, Grandma and Grandpa Vernon's house, Costa Rica, Wild Dunes, and their summer camps. 

Lisi going away party at Clara's

On Friday night we went to Clara's house for a going away party for our friends Damion, Betty, and their son Nick. Lots of the people from our old neighborhood were there, and it was nice to catch up with some old friends and to see everyone together.

Last day of summer camp

Friday was the last day of summer camp for the 2018 summer. The kids had such a wonderful summer and Andrea did an awesome job of planning all their camps for the summer and making sure they had a fun variety and balance.

Paige started the summer with beach camp, then had the art camp when she stayed with Grandma and Grandpa, did one day of gymnastics camp on June 18th, then did Marsh Landing tennis, PVIC tennis camp, and then a full week of gymnastics camp. After Wild Dunes, Paige did the beach camp for the last two weeks of the summer, it was definitely her favorite camp.

Connor started the summer with the UNF tennis camp, then basketball camp when he stayed with Grandma and Grandpa, then Marsh Landing tennis, PVIC tennis, and the last two weeks he did the lifeguard camp at PVIC.

JCP ladies - Leach at the Beach

Last week was the annual Leach at the Beach tennis camp week with the JCP friends. Andrea had fun playing with all her JCP buddies and they got a lot of tennis in and the weather cooperated for the most part all week. Andrea was getting exhausted from the heat towards the end of the week and actually would have been happy for one rain day, but the rain only came in the afternoons. They got all five days of tennis in, and had a great week with the PVIC tennis pros.

On Friday, Andrea drove with Tara to Barbara Jean's and Tara cracked up when she got in the backseat and saw all the stuff that the kids had left in the car. She put on the kids' headphones and took a pic with Iggy.

JCP friends at Tara's beach house

Andrea went with some of her JCP tennis buddies to Tara's beach house over the weekend last week. They didn't play any tennis, and decided to do some non-tennis fun stuff. They went to the beach, hung out at the pool, went to a market, and chatted and snacked all weekend.
