Genie, Abby, and Alli visit from KC
This past weekend we hosted Genie, Abby, and Alli at our house. They flew in late Wednesday night on June 1st and stayed at our house through Sunday. On Thursday and Friday they went out to lunch with us and Andrea took them to the beach club on Friday. We did a lot of swimming in our pool, which Millie Mae really enjoyed, and played games like Taco, Cat, Goat, Pizza. Connor and Paige both played ping pong with Grandma Genie a few times and Connor liked having people around to challenge him to basketball. Paige liked cooking brownies and cookies with everyone and she gave up her room and slept in the bonus room while they were here. On Saturday we went to Graydon's swim meet in the Goble's neighborhood and then ate at the River Club before coming back to our house to chill. On Sunday we met Amanda at Cheesecake Factory for lunch and afterwards the KC crew and Paige went to the Gobles house to party there for the next few days. They leave to fly home on Thursday and we will probably see them at least one more time for lunch before they leave. It's been a good time catching up with everyone and I know the kids have laughed a lot and enjoyed the company.

Last day of School! Connor's Freshman Year and Paige's 6th Grade Year
Today was officially the last day of school for both kids and although they both didn't have to go to school we decided to snap a quick pic of them to mark the occasion.
Connor's Freshman year was a lot of work and a big adjustment, but he did an amazing job with all his classes, he made a bunch of new friends, and grew a lot physically, mentally, and in a lot of other ways. Overall I think he enjoyed it and he said that high school was way better than middle school.
Paige started off disliking middle school, but by the end we think she found things to enjoy. Getting up early was a huge pain in the butt, but Paige almost always got up on her own and by the end of the school year she was making her own lunches, fixing her own hair, and doing all her schoolwork independently. She was an amazing student and did well in all her classes.
We are so proud of both of them!
Alli was with us when we took the pics and I got some cute smiles out of them when Connor picked Paige up for our last shots.
Memorial Day BBQ with the Gobles
On Memorial Day, the Gobles came to our house with Paige, who spent most of the weekend with them, and we ate some delicious BBQ from Mojo's and swam in the pool. Millie was especially excited about it since she was left out on our beach day and had a pretty boring weekend otherwise. We enjoyed Grandma Delisa's brownies and sang "Happy Birthday" to Graydon and he got to blow out his 10 candles.
Graydon's Birthday Celebration at the Club and Sleepovers
This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we decided to stay around town this year for it. On Saturday we met the Gobles at the beach club to celebrate Graydon's birthday a little early since it was during the upcoming school week. We gave him his gift, a boogieboard, and he had a lot of fun using it in the waves. It was a perfect beach day with a yellow flag and lots of nice waves that weren't too scary.
Paige and I built a sand castle, which wasn't super fancy because of the consistency of the sand, but it was large and had a moat that went all the way around. As soon as we finished and walked away, all of the kids lurking nearby flattened it in to a big mound and had fun with it as the tide came in. Connor's friend Robert joined us and the two of them were not around a lot as they went for walks on the beach, probably entertained with everyone there as it was a busier than normal weekend with the holiday.
After our time at the beach, we swam at the pool for a bit and then Paige went to the Gobles' house for the weekend and the rest of us went home and cleaned up before heading over to Robert's house for a BBQ. Connor hung out with a bunch of the kids at the BBQ and Andrea and I caught up with some friends before heading home. Connor stayed the night and went out with Robert and his dad on a boat on Sunday. They were also joined by one of our tennis club's pros and some of his college friends, so they had quite an entertaining day out on the boat.
Paige enjoyed her weekend with the Gobles, especially since Graydon got an early birthday gift from Grandma Delisa that he was able to share with everyone. He got a huge inflatable water slide play set and the Gobles are probably the most popular house on the block now, it sounds like all the kids around came to try it out and Paige had a bunch of little girls following her around that she called her posse.
