Happy Birthday Andrea!

Yesterday was Andrea's birthday! Connor was very thoughtful and spent a lot of time picking something out that his Mommy would love.

Mommy's been working very hard lately, she's covering for another speech therapist that's out on maternity leave, so Connor wanted to get her something special that she would really like. Mommy loved it!

Thanks for being such a great Mommy and a great wife! We love you Andrea!!

Happy Birthday Maia!

Maia blowing out her birthday candles:

We went over to the Gaddis's house yesterday to celebrate Maia's birthday. She turned two last week, and there were a lot of people and a lot of kids who came by to celebrate Maia's big day. We finally got to meet the Norgren's kids and Connor had a good time interacting with everyone. Connor enjoyed being outside, but was pretty unsteady in his new shoes and fell a few times in the grass, the patio, and the linoleum floor. He enjoyed eating cake, and even tried eating a rock. Thankfully Mommy saved his life yet again.

Eating some cake: (YUM!)

Getting ready to eat some rocks (NOT Yum!)

Vaccine? No prob!!

Connor got his MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Vaccine this week, and we were pretty nervous about it, but so far he hasn't shown any signs that it's bothered him at all (knock on wood!). My co-worker got the MMR shot recently when she found out she hadn't gotten it as a child, and said it burned a bunch when she got it and it hurt for days. When the nurse came to give Connor the shot, she had Daddy hold him real tight and we all expected Connor to freak out, but he didn't make a sound when she gave it to him and he didn't cry at all during or afterwards! We even went out to eat later that night!

We were planning for him to be sensitive in the days following the shot, but he's been as active and happy as ever! Since the shot, we've got a few new pictures of him being super cute and thought it'd be fun to post a few.

The first shot, he's stuck under Mommy's chair in the office. He decided to crawl through it and got stuck halfway. It was pretty hard to get him out from under it, but it was pretty hilarious when we noticed the predicament he'd gotten himself into.

Next is his post-dinner picture from tonight. He's been getting very good at feeding himself, and in this picture he's very content with a belly full of pizza and a face full of it too:

Finally, after dinner tonight we cleaned him up in the big tub since he's been such a big boy. Baby's naked in this picture, but Daddy's got swimming trunks on, even though you can't see them!

Connor's getting really good with his walking. He pretty much prefers it over crawling now and he's getting around great. He's been a great baby recently, and we all love him a lot!

Hugs not drugs!

Connor's been a little clingy lately, and a fun side effect of it is that he likes to give big bear hugs very often. He wraps his arms around your neck and will squeeze tightly. It melts the heart!

He's also become a good listener. If he's getting into something he shouldn't, you can say: "No Connor" and he'll stop what he's doing. He hates to be told no, but it's great that he listens. We've even been able to take down all the baby gates and barriers. Our house looks more inviting and less like a cage!

Over 13 months old!

Last weekend we celebrated Andrea's birthday with her parents and siblings. We had a great get together and Connor ate lots of yummy food. He's to the point where he's eating everything and he's also very good about feeding himself. His top two front teeth are both broken through the gums and the incisors next to them are threatening to poke through soon too. He's been pretty emotional about it, and you can tell it's really been bothering him. I was going to post on the blog last night but he was a handful and really wore everyone out getting him bathed and fed.

Happy Birthday (it's not really until the 19th) Mommy!

I love playing with glasses! Makes me smile every time!

I scratched my forehead, and every night in bed I like to pick it off! Mommy and Daddy have to put a band aid on it now when I go to bed!

Chloe's been licking her tummy until it got all red and raw. We got a lampshade to go around her neck so she couldn't lick it, but it wasn't long enough. What ended up working best was an old stained hand-me-down from her little brother. She's getting used to it, but she doesn't really like it.

Sleepover with the Rudolphs

Connor's been wanting to stay the night with his two favorite cousins in the world, and we finally gave in and let him stay over on Friday. Aunt Abby saved cousin Drew's little tikes car, and surprised him with it when he got there. He really loves it, and had a great visit with the Rudolphs. Thanks Uncle Nate, Aunt Abby, Cousins Drew and Alli.

Happy Easter!!

The Easter Bunny came last night and left Connor all kinds of goodies. Connor got a basket filled with eggs, flash cards, sippy cups, a book, a chocolate bunny, and he also got an abacus toy.

When Connor was visiting the doctor for his 1 year checkup, he really enjoyed playing with the germ covered abacus in the doctor's office. The Easter Bunny must have noticed, because sure enough, there was a super deluxe abacus waiting for Connor on Easter morning. Unfortunately we noticed the Easter Bunny stole our debit card and used it to buy the abacus from Amazon.com. We wish Mr. Bunny and his pal Santa weren't so cheap.

The toy is perfect for babies because they don't lose the little pieces and it's perfect for mommy and daddy since they don't have to track all the parts down or worry about Connor eating the beads. It's actually got 5 different sides with different activities and Connor really enjoys it. It's sturdy too, Connor's beaten up on the wires and they haven't bent at all.

Yesterday Shawn and Andrea got to go out for the day while Grandma and Grandpa Anders watched Mr. Connor. They brought him an Easter bag filled with eggs, a book, and some athletic gear!

Thanks guys!
