For the 4th of July weekend, Alex and family flew in from Chicago to visit with us in sunny Florida.
After I finished work on Friday, I drove over to my parents' place and got to hang out and catch up with everyone. Charlie remembered me and we had lots of battles with the old toys I played with when I was little.
On Saturday we went to the beach, and it was a busy day for it on the holiday weekend. We put up a little sun tent in the sand and played for a few hours in the sand. The water was warm and there were lots of little fishies that we tried to catch. Laura managed to catch one, and she also found a couple of shark teeth.
In the evening, we ate pizza and Grandma Alice got a picture of me feeding dog dinner to Millie Mae and all the other dogs too. Grandma Alice was pet sitting Frankie the pug, and all the dogs enjoyed pizza crust and some of the dog friendly toppings.
We watched the neighbors shoot a few fireworks, but didn't stay up too late before Charlie went to bed, and I went home.
In the morning, I got together with everyone and we went to a nearby park briefly, but didn't stay long due to the heat.
The World Cup was on, and we watched a few games together and got hyped up to try our skills. We cleared a spot in the family room and did some penalty kick shots with a little beach ball, which thankfully didn't cause damage when our shots went wild.
We all had a fun weekend together and Charlie wore me out. He's got a lot of energy in his little body, and we never did wear him out.
