2 Days until Baby Vernon Arrives!

Andrea went to the doctor today and she will be induced on Friday. Her blood pressure is still high and the doctor doesn't want to take any risks or chances with the baby. She will be 39 weeks on Friday and considered full term. The plan is for us to go to the hospital Thursday evening so they can begin softening the cervix overnight, and then break her water Friday morning. Hopefully there will be a baby sometime Friday; the earlier the better!!

Check back soon!!

38 weeks pregnant

Andrea had a doctor appointment yesterday and her blood pressure continues to be high. She is now on blood pressure medicine and will have bi-weekly doctor appointments. She will continue to be on bed rest and have bi-weekly non stress tests. Yesterday she was dilated to 1 cm and 50% effaced. The doctor was hoping she was 2-3 cm dilated so she could induce her.

Andrea has her next doctor appointment on Tuesday and the doctor said she might induce as early as next week, depending on cervix changes. We can't believe this baby will be here in 1-2 weeks. We'll keep you posted!

Pregnancy update!

Andrea went to the doctor today, and she was told that she is on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. Her blood pressure is a little on the high side, and she needs to take it easy. She will continue to go to her weekly checkups, and will begin bi-weekly non-stress tests. At the stress tests, they will hook her up to some machines to monitor her and the baby to be sure everything's going ok. She's probably going to get real bored, especially since she's such a busy body, but she plans to take advantage of the time to relax.

Not much longer!!

Baby Showers

We have been so lucky to have had three baby showers hosted for us.

One was with Andrea's girlfriends, one with family, and one with Andrea's coworkers.

Thanks to everyone that came and/or sent gifts. We think, although we're not sure because it is our first baby, that we already have received most everything we will need for baby. We really appreciate everything!

You can see some of the pictures below:

Colleen, Jenni, and Amanda playing the 'dirty diaper' guessing game. (You guess which chocolate bar is melted in the diapers)

Amanda, Colleen, Amanda, and Allison playing the baby food guessing game. (You have to taste each baby food and guess what it is)

Grandma Anders, Connie, Tamra, Genie, Angelia, and Linda (also, Emma and Lily in the laps)

Abigail, Debbie, Jan, Allison, Grandma Renie, and Andrea

Nursery

Since we didn't know if it was a boy or girl, we had to go with a fairly neutral color scheme. Thanks a bunch to Jess and Brandon for helping out with painting all the stripes. Shawn painted the room yellow (3 coats!!!!) and then we went through and taped and painted the blue lines. The chair rail (white rail at waist height) went on last.

It was a lot of hard work, and the baby better love it!!

First post!

For the first post to the blog, here's a picture of Andrea at 30 weeks.

So far her pregnancy has gone pretty well except for one scare where she was feeling bad and she went into the hospital. They pretty much told her to take it easy and she's been working less and has been doing well since then. As of this posting, there's only 3 1/2 weeks to go until the due date! We're getting excited to meet the new baby!
