Paige is 8 months old!

Paige turned 8 months old yesterday. She is such a great baby and has been an absolute joy to have in our family. We love her so much and she's growing up so fast. Her eyes have changed to a beautiful gray color (matches the outfit in the picture pretty well).

She is on a pretty regular schedule now with eating and sleeping. She typically sleeps for 12 hours each night from 6ish to 6ish. Usually she'll have a short (1 hour) morning nap and then a longer (2 hours) afternoon nap. She eats 4 bottles per day, typically 6 ounces in the morning and 5 ounces for the other meals. She is eating baby food and rice cereal every day and we think she's going to be ready for real table food once she gets some more teeth.

Paige is also getting really good at pulling up on things. Just this past week we watched as she reached up and grabbed the edge of a big storage container. Paige started to pull up on it and Andrea put her hands out to catch Paige in case she fell. To our surprise, Paige pulled herself halfway up, stopped and adjusted her feet, and then pulled the rest of the way up! We couldn't believe it!

The next day we put her music table out and tested her to see if she could do it again, and sure enough she was able to do it a bunch of times. We managed to get one on video.

Herrick Christmas

On Sunday the Herrick family celebrated Christmas in Odessa. It was nice to get all the babies together again. We had BBQ and also all the yummy salads and casseroles everyone brings. There were lots of delicious desserts, and Grandma Genie and Alli made some very cute Christmas cupcakes.

Odessa Christmas

In the afternoon on Christmas we went to Odessa to celebrate with the Anders. We opened presents, ate a yummy brunch and played lots of games.

This year we were excited to give Grandpa and Grandma the surprise family picture. All the Anders girls had secretly gotten the families together for a group picture.

While in Odessa, we visited Renie and Buddy. Connie, Mike and Joey were in town visiting and we stayed for a little while to chat.

A Crazy Criss Cross Crash Christmas

We woke up at home and got up early so we could see all the goodies that Santa brought for us on Christmas morning.

Santa had stayed up late putting together blocks, wrapping presents, and he stacked them up in a big pile in our downstairs living room.

Santa had definitely eaten some of the cookies we'd left and he drank most of the milk too.

Connor was excited to open up the last present in the stack, he knew it was going to be a good one.

Christmas Eve

We are all ready for Santa to arrive tonight. We played most of the day, tried to watch "The Polar Express" (Connor thought it was too scary), baked cookies and now the kids are in bed. Connor was good about going to bed on time tonight, knowing that Santa will be here soon.

Connor helped out a lot with the cookies.

Paige just watched.

House decorations

We decorated the house quite a bit inside and out this year. Lots of wreaths, garland and lights!

Date night at Hibachi

We decided to have a date night before the holidays and went to the Plaza on Thursday evening. Andrea's cousin Teresa was on college winter break and watched the kids. We went to Hibachi and had a great meal. After dinner, we walked around for a little while to see the lights and to get into the Christmas spirit. It was a nice night out alone.

Story time with Connor

Connor's still loving story time with Daddy at night. We used to read books, but lately he loves to tell stories and use his toys. We love using our imaginations.

We usually tell stories for a while, then play some games on Daddy's phone before going to bed. We were doing a story with some of his little figures and he'd named them after some kids in his class: Brady, Miles, Chase and Logan (his babysitter's son). In the story Daddy recorded, Logan had gotten into Connor's spaceship and isn't flying it right and crashes into poor Connor.

Connor's School Christmas Party

Today was Connor's Christmas party. Mommy and Daddy both came to party up with their little man and his friends. First we put together an edible snowman. Mommy helped and Connor gobbled up the poor snowman as soon as they finished.

After their art/food project, the kids played a game where they passed around a present. When the music stopped, the child with the present got to unwrap a layer of paper. There were a lot of layers and after the third or fourth time they all started catching on. Connor thought it was very fun.

Anders - Extended Family Christmas

On Saturday the Anders extended family came to Liberty to celebrate Christmas at our house. We were excited to host everyone and it was great to see everyone together. We visited, opened presents, and then the kids played Kinect for a while in the evening.

Paige got pretty chatty by the end of the night.
