Paige's middle school team had their final two games of the season on Sunday. They won their first game by one score and lost their second game by one score. It was quite a heartbreaker and they went back and forth in the final championship game multiple times but it wasn't enough for a win.
Their team scored quite a few points, but on defense they had trouble making stops. Paige's teammate Julia made an impressive pick six at the end of the game to give them a chance, but the zone defense wasn't working. They'd beaten the same team earlier in the year, and it's clear that their opponents had made some good adjustments and have improved.
Paige played her heart out and caught multiple catches, made multiple touchdowns and extra points. She even got blasted by two players on an extra point reception and still held on to the ball. It was an emotional ending to the season and Paige shed some tears after the game. Overall, they were a strong group of girls, but it just wasn't their day.
I put together a video with some of Paige's great plays, but I don't think I got all of them on video. We are proud of her and it was great to see her performing at such a high level. We love seeing her passion for the game, but we're sad that her team wasn't able to pull out a win on their last game. It was their only loss of the season.
