Connor attended his FSU new student orientation, and Andrea and I both went with him to see his dorm and the campus again. We took Tessy to Tallahassee and insisted that Connor drive the entire time. He did a nice job on the drive down, we ate at McAlister's Deli for lunch, and then we went to his dorm for a brief tour. The dorm we toured is actually the one he'll be in for the Fall term, but we had never seen it in person, so it was a good opportunity to see it.
After the tour of the dorm, we checked in at the house where Mom and Dad were staying, played in the game room briefly, and then we drove to campus to check in.
Reid, one of Connor's teammates from soccer and flag football, is also attending the summer session. While we were waiting in line to check in, a lady made an announcement that whoever you were standing next to in line would be your assigned roommate, so we grabbed Reid so that the boys would have a familiar face in the dorms. The boys shared a room, which was part of a suite with a few others.
We went to dinner with Reid, Gail, and Clay in the evening. The next morning, we all attended the orientation and sat through quite a few presentations. We changed Connor's major from "Exploratory" to Finance within the business school, and got him signed up for a few summer classes.
The rest of our time, we ate in the student union, did some shopping for FSU gear at the book store, checked out the business school building, and got to know the area. Connor ran in to a few PV students that he knew from High School, and ended up hanging out with friends quite a bit over the weekend. He had a good time and I think he's gotten comfortable with everything very quickly. He did mention that we will need to get some decorations for the dorm room though. He said that his room with Reid felt like a jail cell.
