For Christmas this year, our Kansas City family flew down to Florida to spend a week with us and celebrate the holiday. Everyone arrived late on Christmas Eve and we were thankful they made it down without any serious delays or trouble. Allison had wanted the cousins to have matching PJ's for Christmas and Andrea showed her the cleaned and folded PJ's in a cute basket when they arrived. All the cousins wore their PJ's to bed and on Christmas morning.
In the morning, everyone had breakfast and then we all opened gifts together.
For lunch, we had BBQ and I turned on the hot tub and we went swimming. Some of us jumped in the freezing cold pool water as well, super refreshing!
In the afternoon, I took some of the boys on a golf cart ride and Andrea went on a walk with some of the girls and Griffin.
In the evening, Paige performed a couple of songs that she'd been practicing. "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven, and "Timber" by Ke$ha, a perfect pairing. Griffin especially loved the music and was sure to clap enthusiastically for his cousin.
The rest of the week we enjoyed the warm weather and we spent quite a bit of time outdoors. We ate outside at Barbara Jeans and saw some dolphins in the water. We played knockout basketball and everyone enjoyed pickleball. We intended to go back out and play pickleball again, but it was a bit rainy and drizzly over the weekend, so only managed to get out once for pickleball.
On Friday afternoon after lunch we went to the beach club and swam in the pool and played at the beach.
On Saturday, some of us drove down to St. Augustine to visit the Alligator Farm. Graydon had been excited to go there and we all enjoyed it, lots to see and the weather was nice.
Griffin loved the alligator toys and all the kids got some souvenirs.
In the evening on Saturday we had an adult night out to Top Golf. It was my first time swinging a golf club, so I was a little apprehensive about it, but we played a pretty low-stress game and all had a lot of fun banging balls as far as we could hit them (when we did manage to hit them).
After golfing, Andrea drove us around and we sang "Careoke" in the car and eventually jumped in the hot tub and pool before going to bed.
On Sunday we went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch and then we watched the Chiefs win their final regular season game of the year. They also secured a bye-week and the #2 see in the AFC when the Dolphins managed to beat the Patriots. Drew was super cute about celebrating with the cousins when it was official.
It was a full house with everyone staying with us, but I think everyone enjoyed it. We all laughed a lot, enjoyed the company, and had a great time. Merry Christmas!
Looks like a nice visit, and y'all did lots of things.
