Jeep?

 

Connor's turning 16 soon and while I've been on the waitlist for the Tesla Cybertruck since it was announced, it doesn't appear to be coming any time soon. We've been debating whether to get something for me to drive once Connor's taking the X3 to school with him, and I decided to get something fun and impractical since it's essentially a third car. I've always wanted a convertible, but none of the cars excited me. I've also always liked Jeeps and the idea of driving around with no roof and doors is appealing for some reason, so we've started looking. 

I thought maybe I'd found a good match at the local Carmax, and I took it for a 24 hour test drive. I was feeling pretty good about it, but it had a few blemishes like a small crack in the windshield, a few rusty spots, and little flying beetles that kept crawling out of the dashboard. The previous owner was definitely a dog owner and the car smelled a bit like it, and there was quite a bit of dog hair in the nooks and crannies. Sadly, I returned it today, but it was a worthwhile exercise as it gave me an opportunity to test it in the garage and decide if I liked it. I'm hopeful that we'll find one before Connor's birthday that will be a good match.
